On Thursday, November 22nd 2007, the International Relationship Student Organization with their department held the Debate Competition between the students in their faculty.
This competition is one of the organization agenda. It has a goal for sharpen students logically thoughts, to build debating and argueing culture with good ethics and mastery the content for the consequences for being intellectual society . This competition was also has a goal to sharpen students logically thoughts in criticize what’s happening around them and widen their knowledge and perception in what’s happening at that moment, and give their critical responds.
This competition was opened by the Dean of Social and Politics Science, Prof. Dr. JM Papasi, attended by Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Hj. Aelina Surya, dra, head of departments and lecturers as well. The competition followed by 8 teams from all departments in FISIP Unikom, which are :
- 3 teams from International Relationship Department.
- 3 teams from Communication and Public Relation Department
- 1 from Government Department
- 1 from Executive Secretary Department
There’s a discharging system in this competition with 4 elimination phase, 2 semifinals, and a final, with has the themes in every phases, which are :
- Pancasila as the state ideology and philosophy in Indonesian lifes.
- The leadership regeneration in Special District of Yogyakarta
- The energy conversion.
- “Old and Young” President controversial.
- Time after autonomy in West Papua
There’s 2 teams left in final, they are from IK – 1 and HI – 3. In final, HI – 3 came out as the winner after they had a hard debate with IK – 1. They are Suryadi Santana, Fahmi Sinaga and Adhi Rusdinsyah. The Trophy and the charter was given by the head department of International Relationship Department. This competition will be raised in the next years and the student will be organized to the highest competition : Unikom’s Debate Competition. This competition has a goal to develop the committee cooperation to success The Bandung Debate Competition 2008. |
