Nowadays, education is considered as an important thing and has been the necessity for any one. The nine year education program is applied by the government of Indonesia. However, not all societies are aware of the importance of education in order to deal with the competition in the globalization era. This is due to several factors; one of them is the financial. No wonder that many people choose to quit from the school or decide to discontinue it.

In relation to that, BNI holds scholarship program, as a form of its attention in the education field, for the higher achievement students of UNIKOM. This event was held at UNIKOM’s seminar room on the 18 December 2008. The scholarship was directly given by the BNI Head of Area 4, Mr. Yaman Bafirois and his staffs, also witnessed by the Rector of UNIKOM, Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto and his representatives, to: Ira Ratnati from International Relationship Department, Riska Sri Rahmawati from Japanese Department, Hermanto from Computer Engineering Department, Afdoli Fahmi from Informatics Engineering Department, and Hendri Mulyadi from Accountancy Department.

In his welcome speech, Mr Yaman stated that this scholarship program is expected to aid students of UNIKOM in theirs study processes as well as improves the synergy between BNI and UNIKOM in the following days. He also hoped that this program can contribute any efforts in improving the quality of education for the nation, which is the responsible for ever body. The rector of UNIKOM welcomed this program and hoped that this good cooperation can be maintained. The Rector also hoped that the students who achieve this scholarship improve their achievements to be able to compete in the globalization era.
