UNIKOM AS THE ORGANIZER OF ROBOTICS TRAINING
 
 
 
         
         
Research and Public Service Directorate (Direktorat Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, DP2M) of General Directorate of Higher Education in corporation with Indonesia University of Computer organized Robotics Training of Indonesia Robot Contest (KRI) and Indonesia Smart Robot Contest (KRCI). This training is aimed not only at improving the qualification of the counselor in-charge and students of higher education in organizing both the proposal, robot implementation, strategy, and competition for the KRI and KRCI 2009, but also to supply the candidate participants of KRI and KRCI in both region and national levels with the ability to design and execute the making of the robots having equal quality.

This training was held at 17 – 19 October 2008 at Majesty Apartment and contented the subjects of the development of Robocon in Indonesia, rules and technical organizing of KRI and KRCI 2009 proposal, robotic structure technique, control system of manual and automatic robots, and techniques/workshops regarding censor and actuator using the conveyance methods of speech, inquiring, discussion, and training. At the moment, the trainers in the training were Prof. Dr. Ir. Mauridhi Hery P., M.Eng (Surabaya Institute of Technology), Dr. Eril Mozef (Bandung State Polytechnic), Dr. Ir. Wahidin Wahab, M.Sc. (Indonesia University), Dr. Ir. Endra Pitowarno, M.Eng. (Surabaya State Polytechnic of Electronics), Ir. Gigih Prabowo (PENS), and Harry Prabowo, ST., MT. (LAPAN). They described the specifications of the Rocket Load Competition (Lomba Muatan Roket).

In this 2008 regional robotics training, DP2M DIKTI appointed 5 (five) universities as the training organizers in each region; Syiah Kuala University, Hasanuddin University, Indonesia University of Computer, Semarang State University, and Surabaya State Polytechnic of Electronics. The appointment was based on the regional consideration, lecturer qualification, students who are actively proposing proposal for the contest, numbers of state and private universities in the pertinent region, and the potential improvement in all.

Drs. Syuaiban Muhammad, M.Si., Chief of Sub Directorate in Student Creativity Program of DP2M DIKTI opened and closed the training participated by 11 universities, Indonesia University of Computer, Padjadjaran University, Indonesia University of Education, Maranatha Christian University, Pasundan University, Langlangbuana University, Indonesia University, Telkom Institute of Technology, Manufacture Politechnic, Bandung State Polytechnic, and Nasional Institute of Technology.
