Since Apicta Awards was held, UNIKOM has represented Indonesia 4 times, starting from 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2015. APICTA Awards (Asia Pasific Information and Communication Technology Alliance Awards) is an International Award Program administered by APICTA with the aim of increasing awareness of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in society and help align the digital divide. In addition, APICTA also designed to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity, improve economic and trade relations, facilitate technology transfer, and offer business opportunities. This year APICTA Awards 2015 held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 17 to 22 November 2015.In the competition of APICTA Awards 2015 Indonesia sent 22 participants with 11 works competed in 8 categoriesschool project, tertiary student project, communication/StarUp, inclusion, research and development, application tools & Platforms, and e-learning. In the competition of APICTA Awards 2015, Indonesia compete with 184 works from 17 countries in the Asia Pacific region such as Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. This year, representatives of the Indonesian team for APICTA Awards 2015 special category of Higher Education (Tertiary Students Project) was dominated by private universities (4 PTS, and 1 State Polytechnic), namely:
- Two teams from UNIKOM Bandung (Private University)
- Two teams from STMIK AMIKOM Yogyakarta (Private University)
- One team from State Polytechnic of Surabaya (PENS)

- Buffer Solution Maker is the work of a student named Ahmad Ari Wibowo, and Adhan Abdul Zabar with supervising lecturer named Ir. Syahrul, MT.
- Game Kitten Mita is the work of a student named Syahroni Musthofa and Andriano Dwindo Putra with supervising lecturer named Angga setiadi, S.kom
Both of nominees from the Unikom team was compete in one category, in the category of Higher Education (Tertiary Students Project) where both of teams must compete with 25 other nominated works coming from 15 countries in the Asia Pacific region.
According to information from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Communications), The APICTA Awards 2015 has significant quality improvement, It is indicated from the quality of the works and products from each Country. Some products and works that competed this year has been used and marketed by several countries in Asia Pacific. Some events such as the Business Forum and the Forum exchange of knowledge between students in the Asia Pacific region, became one of the events in the event of APICTA Awards 2015, which adds to the experience of the participants during the event of APICTA Awards 2015.
