| UNIKOM ACHIEVES GOLD & MERIT AWARD INDONESIA ICT AWARD 2011 |

The Biggest Digital Party in our homeland was held again by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, Republic of Indonesia (KOMINFO) through competition event Indonesia ICT Award 2011 (INAICTA 2011) which took place at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) from October 4 to October 5, 2011.
In this event was held the biggest exhibition of digital creative work in our homeland or INDONESIA DIGITAL EXPO by openly displayed 110 the best creations of our nation youth in front of the society of digital creative and audiences. After going through a long and quite excite process both from the committee aspect who should organize the event of creative digital competition smoothly and well prepared, and also from the side of participants who must prepare their best works to join in this competition. Roadshow to select the participants/works to several cities in Indonesia to the schools, campus and to ICT creator communities in visited city. |

CEO Breakfast Meeting, to hear input from industrial society about activities format that can accommodate ICT industrial interest so that the resulted creativity can be applied both in the global and homeland digital creative industry. |

1st stage judging selected work proposals that have been submitted online, then it were selected become 8 proposals from each category that feasible to follow 2nd stage judging. |

2nd stage judging was held on September 22 to September 23, 2011, on this occasion the competition participants were invited to present their works in front of judges of INAICTA 2011 to be selected each the best 5 works in every category. |

Business Matchmaching Program, the creators who qualify as the nominees will be facilitated to get business training and were met with the prospective investors. |

CONFERENCE with the speaker from the government as regulator consist of: The Minister of Economy, The Minister of People’s Welfare, The Minister of Communication and Information and The Minister of Trade, from the ICT industry, academic society and of course from the creator society of local ICT who have proven their success and also world class speaker Ian Livingstone (creator of Tom Raider).
For the WORKSHOP, covering create animation with blender, make games together with Square Enix (The Publisher of Final Fantasy Games) and E-commerce workshop with Blibli.com.
Total registrants were 1.765 by the detail 393 professional Individuals, 212 professional groups, 216 professional Companies/Institutions, 421 individual students, and 523 student groups. Total competed categories were 28 categories; consist of 16 professional categories, and 12 student categories. From the number of mentioned registrants who send proposals/works and have a right to be judged were 758 works. They were added by robotics competition participants with the amount of more than 200 participants.
On the top event of INAICTA 2011, on October 4-5, 2011 took placed in Jakarta Convention Centre/ JCC beside announced the winner of competition, also held the biggest creative works exhibition in this country namely Indonesia Digital Expo.
All the series of those activities was closed by INAICTA AWARD NIGHT 2011 took placed in JCC. Here, the winners were very happy because they got award of INAICTA 2011 from the Minister of Communication and Information, Tifatul Sembiring.
In INAICTA 2011, UNIKOM achieves 2 awards that are gold medal in Applicative Robot competition and Merit Award in the competition of University/Academy Application.
On category University/Academy Application, UNIKOM was represented by Hendri Karisma from the Department of Informatics Engineering who created Mouse Hand Tracking Applications, Mouse Pointer Control with Natural Interaction of Hand Motion and achieved Merit Award from INAICTA 2011. Due to his winning, Hendri Karisma will represent Indonesia on Asia Pacific ICT Award 2011 (APICTA 2011) which will be held in Thailand.
Whereas in category Applicative Robot, UNIKOM was represented by robotic team consist of Didit Andri Jatmiko, Asrul Rizal AP, dan Ali Mubarokah. They create Robot DRU11SAR which assembled to meet criteria of Robot for Helping People from Natural Disaster, and achieved Gold Award. This robot was designed to be able to send picture or video of environment condition after natural disaster occurrence and possible to make 2 way communications due to 2 cameras which one of them can be rotated 360 degrees. This is very helpful to rescue a lot of people who crushed by the debris because its ability to detect victims who were buried in the debris by its ‘hand’. Beside of that, this robot also can detect gas leakage or fire and extinguish it. The participants on robot category increased from 70 participants to 210 participants on 2011. For its victory, UNIKOM’s robotic team will represent Indonesia to compete in the event of Pre International Robot Olympiad (IRO) which will be held in Jakarta in the upcoming December.
