Directorate of Research and Community Service (P2M) - DIKTI conducted Indonesian Robot Contest (KRI) and Indonesian Smart Robot Contest 2010 Regional I, II, II and IV. In the level of Regional II, which is included West Java, Banten and Jakarta, it is held on May 7th until May 9th 2010 at Politeknik Bandung (POLBAN), and is attended by 91 participants from various universities in those region.
The purposes of KRCI 2010 are; developing and improving the creativity of students in universities, applying science and technology, increasing the sensitivity of students in the development of robot technology, cultivating competitive climate within universities, and supporting the development and use of control system, which is more advanced in the design of the robot.
The event was officially opened by the Director of P2M and Directorate General of DIKTI.
Indonesian Smart Robot Contest consists of Wheeled KRCI Division, a division in which the robot using wheels, as a tool of motion, to find and extinguish fire on the field of arena. This concerns of speed and ability to navigate and manuver the robot within to find and extinguish fires on arena with a particular map. Legged KRCI Division, is similar with Wheeled Division but this robot is using foot as means of motion. Battle KRCI Division is the division that battle of two teams with each of their robot in an arena. The aims of game are finding the ball, taking as many as it can and entering into a container. The fastest team that can enter the most many ball is declared as a winner. This division is an integration of Expert Single and Expert Battle divisions. For the Wheeled and Legged Division, the contest system refers to the rules of international contest at the Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, USA, with some adjustments to the conditions in Indonesia. For the Battle Division it is fully applying the Committee of KRCI 2010 provisions.
In this event UNIKOM delegates 3 teams, which consists; two students in Senior Wheeled Division team Wahyu Eko Prasetyo and Adi Heryadi from the Department of Computer Engineering - accompanied by Yusrilla Y. Kerlooza, M.T. as a mentor. Senior Legged Division team consists of two students - Cucu Herlani and Galih tias R.M from the Department of Computer Engineering, and the Battle Division team consists of three students - Rizal Septiawan Pratama, Irwan Suryawan, and Ridian Ardian from the Department of Computer Engineering, both of the teams are accompanied by Taufik Nuzwir Nizar, S. Kom. as a mentor.
Themed of KRCI 2010 is " Fire Extinguisher Smart Robot and Ball Player Smart Robot ".
In KRCI Regional II, UNIKOM Robotics Team is achieving all the medal: First Winner in Senior Wheeled division with DU114 V10, First Winner in Senior Legged Division with DU116 and First Winner in Battle Expert Division with DU99-V2.
UNIKOM Rector - Dr. Ir. Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto is very proud that UNIKOM Robotics Team achieved all the medal in all category at KRCI.
With all the successes, UNIKOM Robotics Team will represent Regional II province at KRI-KRCI National level, which will held at the Muhammadiyah University - Malang at June 19th until June 20th 2010. |
